Keeping children safe comes before everything else we do. Every adult at Vanta, from teachers to kitchen staff and volunteers, shares that responsibility.

Our commitments

  • Every member of staff has a child protection certificate (børneattest) checked before they start, and again every three years.
  • All staff are trained in safeguarding every year, and new staff before their first day with children.
  • Visitors sign in at reception, wear a badge and are never alone with pupils.
  • We teach children, in ways that suit their age, how to stay safe and who they can talk to.

If you’re worried about a child

Talk to us straight away. You can speak to any teacher, or go directly to our designated safeguarding lead:

If a child is in immediate danger, call 112.

Working with others

When we have concerns, we follow the procedures of Lyngby-Taarbæk Municipality and, where the law requires, report them to the municipality’s children and family services. We always tell parents what we’re doing unless that could put a child at risk.

Online safety

Pupils use school devices with filtered internet access, and learn about online safety from Primary onwards. Our rules on phones, photographs and social media are shared with every family at the start of the year.
