Vanta School looks after information about children and families every day. We collect only what we need to teach, care for and stay in touch with you, and we protect it under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Danish Data Protection Act.
Who is responsible
Vanta School, Lyngby Hovedgade 48, 2800 Kongens Lyngby, is the data controller. Our data protection officer can be reached at privacy@vanta.school.
What we collect
- About pupils: name, date of birth, contact details, school reports, attendance, learning support notes, and health information such as allergies.
- About parents and guardians: names, contact details, languages spoken at home, and payment details for fees.
- From applications: everything you share on the application form and in meetings with our admissions team.
- From this website: what you send through our forms, and anonymous statistics about how the site is used.
Why we use it
We use personal information to run admissions, teach and assess pupils, keep children safe and healthy, communicate with families, and manage fees. Our legal bases are the contract with each family, our legal duties as a school, and, for photographs and newsletters, your consent.
Photographs
We only use photographs of pupils on this website, in print or on social media with the written consent of their parents. You can withdraw consent at any time by writing to the school office.
Who we share it with
We never sell personal information. We share it only where needed: with the Danish authorities as the law requires, with exam boards, and with service providers who run our school systems under a data processing agreement.
How long we keep it
Application details for children who don’t join are deleted after one year. Pupil records are kept for five years after a child leaves, apart from exam results, which we keep so we can confirm them later.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold, and object to how we use it. Write to privacy@vanta.school and we’ll reply within a month. If you’re unhappy with our answer, you can complain to Datatilsynet, the Danish Data Protection Agency.
